Angry, militant Leftists call for “confronting” Republican lawmakers in their own homes… a dog whistle for left-wing “kill teams”

In the age of POTUS Donald Trump, the Left has become perpetually triggered, finding new and often interesting ways to project their anger onto whatever political, societal, or cultural event is currently taking place.

This week, of course, the Left’s “trigger” was the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing involving testimony from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. The former has accused the latter – without corroborating evidence or witnesses – of sexually assaulting/groping her 35-plus years ago when both were mere waifs in high school.

For the judge’s part, he not only denied the incident ever took place, he denied even knowing Blasey Ford back in the day, having only become intimately familiar with her and her allegations after Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., or someone associated with her (the lawyers she hooked Ford up with?) leaked her charges to the willing “mainstream” media.

But truth doesn’t matter to the perpetually angry, virtue-signaling Left. Long before Judiciary Committee chairman Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, bent over backward trying to accommodate Ford so the committee could hear her side of things, Democrats and their supporters had already proclaimed Kavanaugh guilty, despite his squeaky clean, multi-decade record of interacting with women professionally and romantically without so much as an allegation he tried to hold a girl’s hand without her permission.

The anger really mounted after the committee met on Friday and in an expected 11-10 straight party-line vote, passed Kavanaugh’s nomination on to the Senate, where a full confirmation vote is expected sometime next week.

So angry, in fact, are some Leftists that they are advocating ramping up the already abysmal public treatment of Republican lawmakers to include home invasions. Not even kidding. (Related: CIVIL WAR ALERT: Leftists openly plot mass executions of conservatives as Democrats release home addresses of Republican Senators.)

In a Friday morning tweet before the Judiciary Committee even voted on Kavanaugh, The Daily Wire noted, Ian Millhiser of Think Progress tweeted, “Tell me again why we shouldn’t confront Republicans where they eat, where they sleep, and where they work until they stop being complicit in the destruction of our democracy.”

Yes, he really went there. This can and should be considered an escalation of earlier ‘confrontation’ rhetoric from the Left that only called for ruining Republicans’ lunch and dinner. Now, we have a Left-wing hack who is inciting people to illegally enter the domiciles of GOP lawmakers and accost them. Or worse.

The Left is not the arbiter of right and wrong

This all stems from the mistaken belief that the Left thinks it has the market on what does and does not constitute democracy. Leftists have assumed for themselves the role of deciding what “justice” is and is not; what political and cultural ideas are legitimate and which are not; what comprises “fairness” and equity and what does not; and so on.

Based on their arbitrary assumptions of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ they eschew the traditions of polite society and decency to impose their viewpoints on anyone who challenges them or dares to hold a different opinion.

Take the Kavanaugh situation. There is a demonstrable lack of evidence regarding the various sexual allegations against him. There is no shortage of alleged fact witnesses who are not verifying the charges but rather refuting them outright, in some cases by reason of absence (you can’t be a witness to something when you weren’t even there).

And yet the angry Left has drawn a conclusion patently at odds with reality: That because he was charged and because they oppose him, he must be guilty or, at a minimum, considered guilty and thus illegitimate. That’s aside from the ‘illegitimacy’ imposed on him by a “lecherous” president who nominated him.

These political conditions are not sustainable. We can’t have public confrontations and physical violence visited upon our elected representatives and maintain a civil society. When one side has decided they no longer have to abide by the social contract that binds all of us together even when we disagree, then a complete breakdown can’t be far behind.

“When one side denies the legitimacy of good faith disagreement over policy–as well as over constitutional principle–the other side will eventually reciprocate. Neither a constitutional republic nor a democracy can survive that,” tweeted Georgetown Law professor Randy Barnett.

Precisely.
